Lord Ivar Mountbatten, cousin of Queen Elizabeth II, marriedJames Coylein what became a historic ceremony, as it is the first Once a man of British royalty marries another man.

Penelope Thompson was the one who was married to Lord Ivar Mountbatten for 16 years and, oddly enough, it was she herself who took him to the altar in this second marriage.

Mountbatten confessed early to his ex-wife that he was attracted to men, but after a while they both fell in love, got married and had three daughters.

After 16 years, Penelope made the decision to say goodbye to the marriage. He left everything material and left: "I was approaching 40 and I thought: ' It's now or never . I'll stay in this marriage, in which I do not think our relationship can be complete or I'm leaving. ' And I knew that Ivar could not be really authentic unless I left, "the woman told the Daily Mail

After the separation, Lord Ivar Mountbatten confessed that, despite all this situation, he was never unhappy because he truly loved his ex-wife, but he always felt that something was missing to feel full happiness.

"I have struggled with my sexuality for a long time, and somehow I keep doing it, because it has been a real journey to reach this point," Lord Ivar Mountbatten explained to the same newspaper.

Penelope confessed that when she heard the news about the marriage of her ex-husband, she gave him all her support and she herself delivered him at the ceremony in the presence of her three daughters.

The ceremony was intimate, with only 60 guests and without the presence of any member of the royal family.
