President Nicolás Maduro asked at the 73rd General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) to appoint a delegate to conduct an independent international investigation into the terrorist attack on August 4.

Maduro also indicated that "Venezuela officially proposes support for an investigation in which the truth about these events is determined."

At the same time, he reiterated his willingness to shake hands with President Donald Trump to discuss bilateral differences and regional issues, adding that "Venezuelans do not hate the United States; on the contrary, we appreciate their culture, their arts, their society "

The national president in the UN said he is "a worker, not a tycoon", but despite historical, ideological, economic, social and cultural differences, is willing to dialogue with Trump and forget these "abysmal" differences.

He also mentioned that "those who are different are the ones who must dialogue".

I also congratulate the United Nations Organization and the Ecuadorian doctor and diplomat María Fernandez Espinoza, for being the first woman to preside over one of the 73 general assemblies of the UN.

Finally, the Head of State indicated that Venezuela will vote in favor of the resolution that will be discussed in the next few days at the United Nations Organization that will demand that the United States (US) government lift the economic and financial blockade that it has imposed. to Cuba for more than five decades.

"We support the call of the United Nations to end the infamous and criminal blockade of 50 years against the people of Cuba. Enough of anachronistic methods of an era and want to continue to apply against the people of Cuba and apply to other peoples as the Venezuelan people. We raise our two hands to vote for the resolution of the United Nations that in the coming days will be carried out to reject the blockade and demand its immediate lifting, "he said.
