On Tuesday, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reiterated that Venezuela will request the United Nations (UN) 500 million dollars for the purpose of financing the Plan Vuelta a la Patria, to support Colombian immigrants, and other nationalities. , who live in the country.

During a meeting with immigrants of multiple nationalities who have found stability and opportunities in Venezuela, the president said that "we are going to ask for support from the entire international community and with that money we will help the Colombian, Peruvian and Ecuadorian migrants who live in Venezuela."

"Only peace can guarantee the viability of development, of international relations for our planet. The United Nations has great challenges, "he said.

Regarding the Return to the Fatherland Plan, the Head of State assured that "I have the resources for the Plan Vuelta a la Patria and I have given the order to guarantee the return of every Venezuelan who wishes to return."

On the other hand, Maduro denounced the international campaign that has been carried out against Venezuela and migration.

"It has become fashionable to denounce the migratory situation of Venezuela to the world and only want to create conditions for the intervention to our nation," he said.

However, he argued that "in recent years Colombian migration has not stopped, as a result of the neoliberal package, the economic situation in Colombia is serious" and has gone unnoticed by the international community.

"Since Iván Duque (president of Colombia) talks more about Venezuela than about Colombia and does not want a diplomatic dialogue, I challenge him to a public debate," he urged.

Maduro said that the budgetary situation "left by Juan Manuel Santos in Colombia is disastrous. I have information from a report that was made to Iván Duque. A package of measures is expected that will deepen unemployment, hunger and poverty. "
