Blexfraptor
Eleven people were killed and 44 wounded when a driver rammed a car into a crowded square in southern China and then attacked their victims with a knife and sword seeking "revenge" for previous criminal convictions, the government said Thursday. The attacker drove to the square in Mishui, part of the city of Hengyang in Hunan province, on Wednesday afternoon, the Hengyang government said in a statement. The driver, surnamed Yang, drove the car into the square, then attacked the people with a sword and a knife, the statement added. Yang has a long criminal record with previous convictions for selling drugs, stealing and attacking people, which led him to cherish the desire to "take revenge on society," the government said. The attacker was arrested, he added, without giving further details. Video footage issued by state media showed several bodies on the ground while people treated some of the injured. The government originally said that three people died, but increased the number of deaths in later statements. There were no indications that the attack was related to terrorism.
