Acuña sent a fastball from Mexico's Héctor Velázquez to the left-center forest to get his 24th homer of the season and his eighth homer since he was moved to first-baseman after the All-Star break. The franchise record belonged to Marquis Grissom, who hit seven home runs in 157 games in 1996. Acuña outlasted Grisson in just his 44th game as Atlanta's first bat. Acuña, 20, needs one more homer to equal the home run mark of a rookie set by Chris Young as a member of the D-backs in 2007. The overall record is 13, set by Alfonso Soriano. of the Yankees in 2003.
