How to download YouTube music to your PC

Music subscription services are usually expensive. That makes many have to settle for free options, which can be consumed without cost in exchange for annoying ads between songs.

Step 1. What song do you want to download?
1. First of all, find the video you want to convert into audio format. To do this, go to the official YouTube page by typing youtube.com in the address bar of your browser.
2. Once on the platform, look for the video by using the search engine that you will find at the top of the screen. In our case, we will introduce the name of the official Tech Advisor channel, another one of the IDG websites.
3. Click on your preference result and select the video you want to convert. In this example, we choose the clip that appears on the homepage of the channel, the one titled 'Star Wars Sphero BB-9E review', but you can also do it from the 'Videos' section.
Step 2. How to convert a video into audio?
1. Once inside the video page, copy the URL that you can find in the address bar. To do so, select the address, right-click and click on 'Copy', or directly use the shortcut, giving the 'Ctrl' and 'C' keys.

 

Alternatively, you can also click on the 'Share' button -or 'Share' in English- that you will see below the video, followed by the 'Copy' button that you will find in the lower right part of the new floating window that appears.

2. With the link to YouTube copied, go to the converter page. In our case we have introduced youtubemp3.to in the address bar of our browser, but if this converter does not work, you should know that there are others available on the web with similar functionality.

You can easily find them with a quick Google search. Some examples are: youtube-mp3, flvto.biz, onlinevideoconverter.com and easy-youtube-mp3.com.

3. Locate the horizontal bar that will appear in the middle of your screen and paste the URL of the video that you just copied. To do so, right click and click on 'Paste' or use another quick shortcut giving the 'Ctrl' and 'V' keys at the same time.

4. You can usually change the audio format with the option that you will find below the bar. In this example, we want to convert the video to .mp3 (256 kb).

5. Next, click on the red 'Convert' button - or similar - located below the search engine.
Step 3. How to edit the audio information?
1. Once the video has been converted, in some converters you will be redirected to the download page, where you can edit the audio before downloading it. To do this, click on the orange 'Edit file' button that you will see in the middle of your screen.

2. If you only need a specific part of the converted video, you can cut it with the help of the two markers you will find on the audio track. Only the highlighted part will be downloaded with a blue shadow.
3. You can also change the audio title and enter the name of the artist and the album. In this example, we have named Tech Advisor as the author.

 

4. Once all the changes have been made, click on the green 'Finished' button and wait to be redirected to the download page.

Step 4. How to save the audio?
1. Finally, you only have to click on 'Download' to save the converted audio on your computer.

2. If you need to download another video, start by clicking on 'Convert again' to go to the initial page of the converter and repeat the whole process again.
