Huawei's new mobile processor can boast the world's first in many ways: it is the first 7-nanometer, with CPU based on Cortex-A76 ARM and GPU Mali-G76; the first with dual NPU, the first with LTE intelligent modem Cat.21 and the first that supports LPDDR4X RAM. First 7-nanometer mobile chipset The Huawei Kirin 980 is the first mobile chipset built with a manufacturing process of 7 nanometers, a significant jump of miniaturization compared to 10 nanometers of the previous generation, the Kirin 970. To take full advantage of this configuration, Huawei has developed a CPU subsystem with Flex-Scheduling technology that flexibly allocates the cores suitable for each type of process. Another aspect in which the Huawei Kirin 980 is also the first is to equip the powerful graphics chip Mali-G76 GPU, which is 46% faster and 178% more efficient than Mali-G72, the GPU of its predecessor . To optimize photographic performance, the integrated image processor increases 46% in data throughput, improves compatibility for multi-camera configurations and equips a new HDR color reproduction technology. In addition, the ISP also has an improved motion tracking feature to capture snapshots of fleeting moments with ease. In the video section, the Kirin 980 includes a feature that allows the camera to record videos with 33% less delay. Excellent connectivity Huawei Kirin 980 integrates the world's first modem that supports LTE Cat.21.
