Taysir Khalid, a member of the PLO Executive Committee, warned of a new Israeli regulation authorizing some 600,000 Israelis to obtain permission to carry firearms, Hispantv said on Saturday. The public security minister of the Israeli regime, Gilad Erdán, recently approved new changes in the weapons licensing rules that authorize some 600,000 Israelis to obtain a firearm permit, Hispantv reported on Tuesday. Khalid warned that there are some 145,000 Israeli settlers in the occupied Palestinian territories who hold such permits, not including soldiers, police and others who carry firearms in their work. With the new regulations, he added, the number of armed Israeli settlers in illegal settlements and outposts will increase to about 200,000. The member of the PLO asked the United Nations Security Council (Csnu), the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the General Assembly of the United Nations (Agnu) to assume their responsibility in the face of the danger of such acts of the Tel Aviv regime, in this way he reported AVN.
