Askor lml Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, declared Monday August 20 as a non-working day, within the framework of the entry into force of the new monetary cone, which highlights the elimination of the five zeros of the currency. "I am going to declare Monday, August 20, a non-working day, so that, as a banking day, it allows the entry of the new monetary cone and the process of increasing adaptation of the operation of the new monetary cone begins," said the head of state. This reconversion, announced on July 26, was scheduled for June 4 and was postponed until August 20. The new monetary cone will be reduced by five zeros and will be anchored to the Petro, a Venezuelan cryptocurrency. The Central Bank of Venezuela began on August 2 the delivery of the new pieces of the monetary cone to the national bank. 1
