G.O.G Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Iran's vice president, Ali Motahhari, rejected the call for dialogue by US President Donald Trump, following the economic sanctions imposed by Washington and the departure of the nuclear agreement. Motahhari said that "the proposal is not adequate given Trump's verbal attacks, conversations under such circumstances mean ignominy, disdain and humiliation," Prensa Latina reported. For his part, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi said the negotiations "require conditions and needs," something that "so far there is no sign in the words or acts of Trump." The president of the United States recently declared that he is willing to meet with his Iranian counterpart, Hasan Rohani, without any preconditions. The tensions between the two nations worsened when the Trump administration announced last May the US abandonment of the nuclear agreement with Iran, arguing that, even if Tehran complies with the provisions of the treaty, the Persian country can develop nuclear weapons in a short time, .
