Maduro insists that the US prepares 'provocations' on the Colombian-Venezuelan border

The president of Venezuela has asked the FANB to be on high alert since the United States is trying to take Colombia and Venezuela to a state of armed confrontation.

 

Nicolás Maduro, insists that the United States prepares "provocations" on the Colombian-Venezuelan border to bring the two countries to an "armed confrontation" and has reiterated his request to the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) to be on "maximum alert" "

"US imperialism is preparing provocations on the border and beyond, to take Colombia and Venezuela to a state of armed confrontation, I have said several times and I reiterate it," the Venezuelan president said at a ceremony with the military.

He asks the FANB to "be with the guard up" and on "maximum alert" with the "false positives of the criminal and envious oligarchy, which from Bogotá fulfills Washington's orders".

As he has said, "paramilitary groups have been infiltrating" the border to do "damage" to the Venezuelan po[CENSORED]tion and to "try to escalate a set of provocations."

The Venezuelan head of state has also repeatedly accused the president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, of preparing "a set of incidents and provocations of a military nature" to generate an armed conflict between the two countries.

Last week Maduro also asked the FANB to be alert, after US media released versions claiming that US President Donald Trump raised the possibility of invading the Caribbean country several months ago.
