Belgium eliminates Brazil and returns to the semifinals of a World Cup

An own goal by Fernandinho has opened the scoring for the Belgians. De Bruyne has increased the distances to counterattack. Renato Augusto's goal in the second half did not work.

 

Belgium has eliminated Brazil (1-2) in the second quarterfinal match of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The Red Devils return to the semifinals, where they will face France, 32 years after the last time, in Mexico.

With the elimination of Brazil, there will not be any South American team in the semifinals.

With Hazard, De Bruyne and Lukaku in command, the Belgians have given an exhibition of offensive power. The Brazilians have started the game very animated, but they have been diluted. The spark of Belgium has lit the first goal, of Fernandinho in own door, in a corner kick.

Belgium has left the ball to Brazil, and taking advantage of the spaces left, too predictable, has hurt the counterattack. After half an hour, De Bruyne finished with a great goal against Belgium.

Brazil has started the second part of the attack, while among the Belgians tiredness was noticeable. In the absence of a quarter of an hour the goal of Augusto has arrived, a pass from Coutinho. Afterwards, without control of the game, there has not been time for the comeback.
