Skipper ✪ Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 Toyota has confirmed that RAV4 is no longer produced in the diesel version as part of the manufacturer's plans to abandon this type of propulsion on almost all models marketed in Europe. Toyota announced in autumn last year that it will not launch any new diesel models on the European continent, and in March it confirms that this year will take out this type of propulsion, with the only exceptions being Land Cruiser and Hilux. Two months away, RAV4 is the next "victim", as the Japanese builder announced it stopped production of the SUV's diesel version. "There will still be cars in stock or allocated from production so far, but no new orders can be placed," said a Toyota spokesman. In fact, the Toyota RAV4 diesel engine has also disappeared from the Japanese manufacturer's offer on the Romanian market. Following this decision, the SUV can be ordered in Romania with a 2.0-liter and 151-horsepower gasoline engine or a 197 horsepower hybrid version of a 2.5 liter petrol engine and 155 horsepower . The new generation RAV4 has already been officially presented at the New York Motor Show in March, but will arrive on the European continent only in the first half of next year. The Japanese have already confirmed that the European version will be available in the same range as today with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and a 2.5-liter hybrid petrol engine.
