Skipper ✪ Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 Compared to Windows operating systems, where formatting a HDD is done with a single right-click on the external hard drive partition or USB stick (flash drive) and click "Format" on OS X operating systems, you must to use an OS X utility. Disk Utility helps us manage everything that a storage device means on a Mac. Including the Mac's hard drive. As you can see in the video tutorial above, formatting is done following a few simple steps: 1. Connect external hard drive via USB to Mac. 2. Open Disk Utility 3. Select the HDD that we want to format or resize. (WARNING not to select another hard drive by mistake) 4. Go to the "Erase" tab> select the format in which we want to convert the volume of hdd 5. Click> "Erase ...".
