The Citroen C5 will return to the model range of the French in 2020, while Citroen C4 will re-appear in 2021, replacing the C4 Cactus.

Citroen has recently had a confusing strategy with regard to the range of models, and this will continue in the coming years.
Linda Jackson, CEO of the French manufacturer, revealed in an interview with Autoweek that the manufacturer will launch new generations for C4 and C5. Currently, none of the two models are in the Citroen range.

The production of the latest generation C4 ceased in the spring of this year, and the compact model has already been replaced with the C4 Cactus hatchback. The international press has speculated since February that the next C4 Cactus generation will return to C4, so changing the name for only three years is surprising. The model was to be launched in 2021 and be produced at the plant that the builder holds in Madrid.

Until then, the French will also re-launch the Citroen C5, which has now been removed from production due to weak sales. The new generation would be based on the EMP2 platform and also benefit from a hybrid plug-in version estimated at around 230 horsepower. The new C5 is scheduled for launch in 2020.
