Blexfraptor
The Organization of American States condemned on Tuesday the "electoral farce" committed in May by the Nicolás Maduro regime and ratified the existence of an "alteration" in the constitutional order of Venezuela, when approving a resolution that takes the first steps for the historic suspension of the South American country of the OAS. The resolution, presented by the United States along with some of the most influential countries in the continent, was approved by a list of 19 votes in favor, four votes against and 11 abstentions, in a clear sign that the Bolivarian regime continues to lose support in the region as its crisis deepens. The resolution is seen as the first step towards the suspension of Venezuela in accordance with the procedures of the Inter-American Democratic Charter, which must be approved in another session to be convened in the future with two thirds of the votes. The suspension is the highest sanction that the agency has and that in its 70 years of history has only imposed two countries: Cuba and Honduras.
