Mazda holiday: 50 million cars built by Japanese in the 86th anniversary of production

Mazda Motor Corporation announced that May 15, 2018 meant reaching a total production of 50 million cars in Japan. The first vehicle built by Mazda in Japan was delivered in October 1931, 86 years and 7 months ago.

"Mazda started building cars 86 years ago, and now we have managed to reach a production of 50 million units in Japan. Even with an annual production of one million units, it would take us 50 years to achieve this performance. This shows us what a long history Mazda has, "said Masamichi Kogai, president and CEO of the Japanese manufacturer.

Mazda aims to sell over 1.6 million cars this fiscal year. By March 2024, the Japanese want to reach a global annual production of 2 million units.
