According to sources close to the company, the plug-in hybrid will have a bigger battery and a more powerful propulsion system. The current BMW 7 Series was presented at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2015. In addition to the diesel and petrol versions, the Germans also introduced a variant with a hybrid propulsion system. Hidden behind the name 740e iPerformance (photo), the German builder's hybrid has a propulsion system consisting of a four-cylinder 2.0-liter gasoline engine that produces 258 horsepower and 400 Nm. Next to it is an electric motor capable of delivering 113 hp and 250 Nm. In total, the hybrid propulsion system develops 326 horsepower. In 100% electric mode, the current 740e iPerformance is capable of up to 45 kilometers. In 2019, the BMW 7 Series will receive a facelift, and according to sources close to the company, the plug-in hybrid will undergo a series of transformations. The new hybrid will be named 745e, and under the hood we will see a six-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor. At the same time, the battery used by the Germans would have a higher capacity. In other words, the future BMW 745e facelift promises increased power and greater autonomy in 100% electric mode. According to sources, the petrol and diesel versions will have better performance and lower fuel consumption. From an aesthetic point of view, the future BMW 7 Series facelift will receive a series of minor modifications (a revised grille and a re-used front spoiler), while the interior will benefit from the latest technology from the German manufacturer's offer.
