G.O.G Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 The Palestinian representative to the United Nations Organization, Riad Mansur, described the attacks by Israeli forces against Palestinian demonstrators of 'war crimes' and called for an imminent investigation into the matter. According to a report by Hispantv, Mansur said that the Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip amount to war crimes. "Israel deliberately uses lethal weapons against peaceful Palestinian protesters," Mansur condemned, referring to the Israeli repression of Palestinians during Monday's protests on the border fence between the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories. In an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council held yesterday to address the deaths of dozens of Palestinians at the hands of Israeli forces, Mansur denounced that the transfer of the United States embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem encourages Israel to continue with his brutal acts. Mansur urged the US government to review its "illegal" decision on Jerusalem. Retreat of ambassadors. South Africa, Turkey and Ireland withdrew their ambassadors from Israel in response to the massacre in Gaza, Telesur reported. The death toll rose to 58, with the deaths of three other Palestinian protesters, and the wounded reached 2,700. For its part, the United States, which remained alone before the UN in the defense of Israel, blocked a motion for a resolution by the Security Council that expressed "outrage and pain" over the deaths and called for an "independent and transparent investigation." 2
