Juppitèr Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 The candidate of the ruling Colorado Party, the conservative Mario Abdo Benitez, is the elected president of Paraguay, counted 96 percent of the polling stations, as announced by the president of the Superior Court of Electoral Justice. Abdo Benítez will occupy, starting in August, when he is inaugurated, the Presidency of Paraguay for the next five years along with Hugo Velázquez, former president of the Chamber of Deputies and Vice President-elect of the country. The partial results also give victory to the Colorado Party in most of the 17 departments of the country, whose governorates are also in dispute in the elections. In elections where there is no second round, more than four million Paraguayans were called to the polls to elect in addition to those positions to the new Congress (Senate and Chamber of Deputies) and representatives of Parlasur (Mercosur Parliament).
