Although you will not be able to acquire HomePod this Christmas, the other Apple product that you were waiting for at this time is the new iMac Pro that, presumably, will be launched throughout the month of December. Now developers Jonathan Levin and Steve Troughton-Smith have discovered in BridgeOS 2.0 code that the iMac Pro that we expect will feature a dedicated ARM processor in the form of the A10 Fusion that we see on the iPhone 7.

What would this A10 Fusion coprocessor allow in the iMac Pro? It is commented that this chip would allow Apple to have greater control over macOS without frustrating developers and users, allowing its use for specific tasks within the operating system, such as a new "freer" integration of Siri, the voice assistant of the company.

And is that thanks to the A10 Fusion could be invoked Siri in the iMac Pro with the simple call of "Hey Siri" and without touching the keyboard. However, they comment that even this co-processor would still work even if we have turned off the iMac Pro.

Today Apple already includes an ARM chip, specifically the T1, in the MacBook Pro, being developed for specific areas. If Apple finally included a type A co-processor in its iMac, it would be the first time that Cupertino bet on this move with a processor initially used in iOS and not in macOS.
