Morata was forced off after 35 minutes during Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to Manchester City. The 24-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Real Madridduring the summer, is one of three players Spain coach Julien Lopetegui will be without for the two games. Spain lead Group G by three points from Italy and one win from their final two games is likely to be enough to qualify automatically for next year's tournament in Russia. Chelsea will now monitor Morata's recovery and hope that he is fit to face Crystal Palace on October 14.
