COAS felicitates nation on 70th Independence Day, hoists largest national flag at Wagah border

LAHORE: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa in his message to the nation said that  Pak forces will never disappoint. He kicked off the 70th Independence day celebrations by hoisting the largest national flag in the history of Pakistan at Wagah Border Lahore on the eve of Pakistan's 70th Independence anniversary.

As per details, the flag was hoisted on a 400-feet pole, whereas the size of the flag is 120x80 feet. The flag has been made entirely in Pakistan, and is said to be the highest flag in South Asia and the 8th highest in the world.

While addressing to the nation on the 70th Independence Day at Wagah Border, COAS  felicitated the entire nation saying that Pak forces will never disappoint the nation and will stand resilient against enemies.

He humbly thanked to Allah Almighty, adding that Pakistan came into existence on 27th of Ramazan, no one can harm the country which was gotten in the name of  Allah and his messenger.

COAS said that with the national resilience, abundance of resources and the huge reservoir of highly talented youth, the nation would overcome all the difficulties.

Addressing the participants of flag hoisting ceremony held to mark Independence Day here at the Wagha border late on Sunday, he said Pakistan is getting progress and even though today, the challenges being faced by the nation are far greater and more complex than ever before.

COAS said Pak forces will  preserve and protect the ideology, solidarity, integrity and a bright future for Pakistan at any cost, adding that "we will leave no stone unturned to make the county as per ideology of its founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah and thinker Dr Allama Iqbal".

He further said that every person of the nation is a soldier of Radd-ul-Fasaad, adding that "we are ready to sacrifice our lives for the sake of motherland and will protect it till the last drop of our blood".
