Justin Bieber canceled this Monday by surprise what is left of his world tour, claiming "unexpected circumstances".

The 23-year-old Canadian singer was scheduled to retake the "Purpose" tour Thursday with 15 concerts scheduled in the United States, Canada and several Asian countries.

"Due to unexpected circumstances, Justin Bieber cancels the rest of the 'Purpose World Tour' concerts," his representative said in a statement, without going into details.

"Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them," but he made the decision after "thinking it over." Followers will be able to recover money from their tickets.

The Canadian's career was clouded a few years ago by his multiple legal problems, such as throwing eggs at his neighbor's house or driving at a disproportionate speed through the streets of Miami.

But it managed to return to the top in 2015 with the release of "Purpose," the album that includes the hits "Sorry" and "What Do You Mean?"

As a colophon, he collaborated on a remix of "Despacito", the Puerto Rican Luis Fonsi song that is breaking all records. This Monday was eleven weeks in first place on the Billboard singles chart.

Although everything seemed to go a long way, China banned him last week from acting because of his "bad behavior".

In 2014 he scandalized the Chinese authorities for visiting the sanctuary of Yasukuni of Japan, which both Beijing and Seoul consider a symbol of Japanese militarism during World War II.

The artist had already given 150 concerts on almost every continent in the framework of his world tour.
