GUCCI™ Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 Where there’s a road-going Ferrari, a track version is sure to follow. And the Ferrari 488 GTB is no different. A black-and-white cladded Ferrari captured by Automotive Mike testing around the Nürburgring is likely that track-focused version -- the Ferrari 488 GTO. Autocar predicts the GTO’s twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 will get a performance bump to 700 hp, which is up 40 hp. Torque should also see an increase over the GTB’s standard 561 lb-ft. The Ferrari 488 GTO should rival the likes of the forthcoming Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Thinner side glass and windshield, less sound deadening and forged wheels will help cut weight and offer better handling. More aggressive bodywork will increase downforce. Sales of the Ferrari 488 GTO are expected to start sometime next year.
