Devino
The United States on Monday announced its withdrawal from the G7 environmental ministers' declaration on climate change, which met in the Italian town of Bologna. The withdrawal reflects the United States' divergence with other members of the Group of Seven industrialized nations, Canada, France, Britain, Germany, Italy and Japan, reiterating Washington's unilateral stance on the climate issue and showing that it will not return to the Paris Agreement on Global Warming. "The United States will continue to engage with key international partners in a way that is in line with local priorities while maintaining a strong economy and a healthy environment," the statement said. "Accordingly, we, the United States, will not join these parts of the statement Which reflects our recent declaration of withdrawal and the immediate implementation of the Paris Convention and related financial obligations " For their part, the other ministers reiterated their strong commitment to the rapid and effective implementation of the Paris Convention, saying "our actions will continue to be inspired and guided by the growing global momentum to address climate change." US President Donald Trump announced early this month his country's withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement.
