Texas, United States.- The most recent time that US officials built a barrier along the Mexican border left an opening on the small path that leads to Pamela Taylor's house on the banks of the Rio Grande ( The Rio Grande).

Taylor has not been told where the wall promulgating President Donald Trump's government would be built, and now he does not know if officials will return to finish it, AP quoted.

"How do we get out?" Asked Taylor, 88, sitting in the living room of the house she had built with her husband half a century ago. "Do you realize that you are punishing those who live by this river in the American part? ''.

Taylor's experience illustrates some of the effects the wall could have on the residents of the Rio Grande Valley, the extension of farmland and sunny bilingual settlements that form the tip at the southern end of the US-Mexican border. The wall could leave some Americans on the "Mexican side," technically on US soil, but outside a barrier built north of the river that separates the two nations. Landowners could lose property, and those who lost some land for the Existing fence are already preparing for a new battle.

Even if they do not win, lawyers expect to delay the construction of the wall in court and allow enough time for the policy to stop it permanently, either in Congress or after another presidential election.

"That's a battle we're ready to face," said Efrén Olivares, a lawyer for the Texas Civil Rights Project.

The federal government will select finalists to build stretches of wall in San Diego, then elect one company to complete the rest. Ron Vitiello, director of the US Border Patrol, said on Wednesday that a new barrier would eventually be built in the Rio Grande Valley, where sessions of the 5.5-foot (18-foot) posts are now Through Brownsville neighborhoods and nearby towns. Vitiello told an audience in San Antonio that the government plans to complete a wall or nearby in villages where it has been under consideration for a long time.

"It will probably be there (barriers) if all plans are made, but I can not tell them where."
