DeaGLe^ Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 The all-new Honda Civic is almost around the corner, and we have all you need to know about the new tenth-generation car. We've got a massive gallery of pictures, a full price and specs list and all the info on the new design and interior. We've even been for a drive in an early prototype. It's been on sale in North America for some time now, but the all-new Civic is about to hit UK dealers. The £18,235 price tag will net you an entry-level S-grade car with the 127bhp 1.0-litre VTEC turbo engine and a manual gearbox. There won't be any diesel engines from launch, so the only other engine available is a punchier 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo engine, while your transmission choices consist of either a six-speed manual or a CVT automatic. Trim levels start from S, move up to SE, SR and then EX, but no equipment levels have been announced just yet. However, we do know that Honda's SENSING suite of safety kit is standard across the whole range, as Honda aims for a full five-star crash test rating from EuroNCAP. Residual value data, provided from CAP automotive, confirms the Civic is estimated to retain up to 37 per cent of its value over three years. It's possible that the new Civic could make it into the British Touring Car Championship, with Honda's success in the sport seen as an important branding excercise by Honda's head of cars in the UK, Phil Webb. He told us: “We always have an open mind and we’re in those discussions. The contract’s on a yearly basis, so you never know.” New Turbo engines for the Honda Civic At launch, the Ford Focus rival will be offered with a choice of two all-new turbocharged petrol engines, but no diesel initially. Honda predicts the best seller will be the 127bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo, which can be paired with either a six-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. It emits as little as 110g/km of CO2, putting it in VED band B. A more powerful 179bhp 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine will also be available with identical transmission options. that engine emits as little as 133g/km depending on spec, putting it in VED band E. 1 Quote
