Spain: Desmantelan network dedicated to the sexual exploitation of Nigerian women

The National Police dismantled a criminal organization of Nigerian origin dedicated to the trafficking of women for its later sexual exploitation in clubs of alternation and streets of Bilbao (Spain) and mainly in Benidorm (Alicante).

After establishing a device for the detection of possible victims of human trafficking in the usual zones of prostitution of Bilbao, a young Nigerian interviewed by the Police decided to tell their situation to the agents. After offering all relevant resources and protective measures, the investigation was initiated.

The network was led by women

The network was made up of citizens of Nigerian origin with resources in various countries, both African and European, and a perfectly defined pyramid structure. At the apex of it were three women who were absolutely specialized in this type of crime, who shared the infrastructure, that is, the floors where the victims were being housed from their country of origin to the place of their exploitation; Such as logistics, especially the personnel who throughout the entire journey were responsible for transferring the young women and their control, informed the web portal "Cambio16".

It captured very young women who lived in their country of origin in absolute poverty, with false promises of decent and well-paid work in Europe.

After accepting these offers, the victims were subjected to voodoo rituals, a kind of contract for which they promised fidelity to the organization and which, in case of non-compliance, would bring terrible consequences and even death for them and their families .

After the rituals, the organization's contacts in Nigeria moved the victims to Niger, from where other members accompanied them to Libya, guarding them there until they could send them to Italy, for which they did not hesitate to put their lives at risk, accommodating them in Any type of boat lacking, in most cases, any safety measure. In fact, there is evidence that two of the victims of this organization had to be picked up by a rescue boat after sinking the ship in which they traveled in the Mediterranean, drowning several of the immigrants.
