Pokemon Go

Bad news for Niantic. The Pokemon Go bubble is popping. Bloomberg has seen the mobile game’s numbers, and they’re discouraging. Over 10 million daily users have abandoned the app in one month. That’s not a good thing.

In July 2016, over 45 million people were playing Pokemon Go every day. In August, that number has cut down to just over 30 million. A total of over 12 million daily users have up and left. In addition, engagement has dropped from 100% to under 60% and downloads are down.

Is it any wonder? Look at what’s happened to Pokemon Go in the last few weeks. There’s no working tracker in-game. Third party tracking sites have been shut down. The radar response has made it impossible to play while biking or riding on a bus or in a car. And honestly? Every time I try to throw my first Poke Ball, it goes flying into the stratosphere. That’s when the game isn’t (incorrectly) assuming I’m riding in a car when I’m either walking or standing still.

Pokemon Go has issues. It’s clear now that people are abandoning it because of them. Niantic better act fast to retain them!
