G.O.G Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Like other technology giants like Google or Microsoft, Amazon also bets on artificial intelligence and deep learning. The company has just launched three new services from Amazon AI to provide powerful AWS developers with deep learning algorithms and other technologies that enable them to build their applications. Among the new services featured Amazon Rekognition, a facial recognition platform that uses artificial intelligence to identify and distinguish human faces, guessing emotions, as well as recognize and label objects. This imaging service, which has been developed using the same technology used in Amazon Prime Photos, is based on deep learning to provide a multitude of useful features. For example, you can streamline the work of organizing photos by assigning the same labels to images that have a common element, such as an object, a person, or a color. Another feature of Amazon Rekognition especially interesting for companies is the creation of a face-based authentication system, an alternative for them to be able to provide in their applications an additional layer of security that uses facial recognition as a password. Amazon Polly is another new service with great potential presented. It is an engine that understands natural language and has the ability to convert text to voice in a fast and accurate, imitating human speech. Technology has enormous potential for all sorts of fields, and is especially interesting for helping the disabled, for learning languages or for media content, among other examples. Finally, the third service presented is Amazon Lex, a platform for creating conversational interfaces using voice and text. It is the same engine responsible for the Alexa conversation, and is now available for any developer to incorporate into their applications. The creation of chatbots is one of the examples of what the new service can offer. Quote
