ASUS has announced the XG-U2008, an unmanaged 10-port Ethernet switch equipped with 2 10GBase-T (10G) ports that provide up to 10Gbps of speed.

The XG-U2008 is one of the first switches with 10Gb connectivity designed for homes, offices and SMEs. Its 2 10Gb ports transmit data 10 times faster than standard Gigabit Ethernet using RJ-45 cables.

Compatibility with 100/1000 Mbps connections makes it ideal for any business or home that needs a network with a high bandwidth to connect servers, back up a computer to a compatible server or NAS, transfer very heavy files, etc. .

The XG-U2008 is a future-proof solution that maintains compatibility with current Ethernet standards. It is equipped with 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports 1000 Mbps to connect any wired network device.

Apart from turning on and connecting the network devices, the XG-U2008 does not require any configuration.

Each port is automatically configured depending on the device you connect and the 10Gb ports include a 3 color LED indicator: blue means the connected cable supports 10Gbps transmissions, white indicates transmissions at 1Gbps and amber means the cable does not work.

The XG-U2008 also incorporates front LED lighting to see which ports are active.

Thanks to the attractive design of its metal chassis, it is not necessary to install the XG-U2008 out of sight. And although its small dimensions make it perfect for any office, study or home, there is also an optional kit to install it in 19-inch rack cabinets.

The ASUS XG-U2008 is available at a suggested retail price of € 199.
