G.O.G Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 Nowadays, if you want to learn programming and robotics, you have infinite alternatives to do it in a fun, practical and fun way. This is precisely what QuadBot offers you, a robot specially designed so that anyone can assemble it while learning encoding. QuadBot is an android consisting of a central module with Arduino brain and four legs. You can walk in a crab-like way, dance, play music or light up with lights, and it is equipped with various sensors to detect and avoid obstacles. It can be programmed in two ways: a simple one through a graphic blocks interface, recommended for children and beginners, and a more complex one by directly modifying the code. The robot adapts to different levels of experience so that users of different profiles can use it. On the one hand, members of the maker community can choose the kit that includes the 3D designs so that they are themselves who personalize and print the parts that make up the android. New users have access to a complete pack with everything needed to assemble the robot, and finally there is a Blubooth kit for those who want to experiment with wireless control. EngiMake, the company behind this nice robot, has relied on crowdfunding to make his invention a reality. The project has been well received in KickStarter and in a few days have surpassed half of the 12,500 pounds that have been marked as economic target. There are still 45 days left to make contributions, so it is likely that they will do so. If you are thinking of starting out in the world of robotics with QuadBot, you can get yours on the campaign page at a price of 199 pounds (235 euros at current exchange rate). The kit includes all the necessary components for you to begin developing your skills in electronics, math and coding. The orders will be shipped from April 2017, in case the project goes ahead and the company's programming is fulfilled. Quote
