G.O.G Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 The heavyweights of payment from the Samsung-Samsung doll with Pay and Apple Pay Apple-will soon join a new competitor. And it will be nothing less than Google itself. From the hand of Android Wear, Google is working on incorporating payments by Android Pay within the smart clocks. After years of speculation, it seems that the company is finally ready for the expected payment from the smartwatch. The only requirement will be to have a smart clock with NFC - and the latest version of Android Wear, of course -. The payment of physical purchases through a contactless terminal can be made directly from the clock, as has been possible for some time in the Samsung Gear S3 or Apple Watch. The difference is that, in this case, the payment would be made using Android Pay. This information has been discovered in the source code of the latest Google Play Services update (v10.0). In it, there are snippets of code that explicitly mention the ability to link the clock with the Android Pay account. The only requirement of this technology, the availability of NFC connectivity in the clock, is met by many current models on the market. From the Sony SmartWatch 2 to Gear S3, although presumably in the future also must meet the requirement to be upgradeable to the latest version of Android Wear. At the moment, in Spain we have to be satisfied with sitting around waiting for the arrival of Android Pay. There is still no specific date for its arrival, but it would be rare if the launch did not take place before the end of this year 2016. Quote
