G.O.G Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 At least 16 people attending a wedding were killed when a car bomb exploded Thursday in a town west of Baghdad, according to hospital and security sources. The suicide bombing in Amriyat al-Fallujah, a village in Anbar province, about 40 km west of the Iraqi capital, left about 30 others wounded, the sources added. At the moment no one claimed responsibility for the attack, but the jihadist Islamic State (EI) group often carries out suicide attacks against civilians in Iraq. This suicide bombing took place three days after two similar attacks claimed by the EI left in the city of Fallujah, northwest of Amriyat al-Falluja, at least 15 dead. The EI occupied large areas north and west of Baghdad in 2014 but since then Iraqi forces have recovered much of the lost territory, although the jihadist group still controls several towns in western Anbar.
