At least five people were killed and dozens injured in rocket fire and shelling in parts of the Syrian city of Aleppo, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Three of the dead were killed in attacks by military aircraft and helicopters, and by artillery fire in the eastern districts of the city, besieged by the army and held by the rebels.

The neighborhoods that were targeted by the bombings are Al Muasalat, Al Ansari, Dahra Awad, Karam al-Turab, Al Qataryi, Tariq al Bab, Al-Sheikh Said, Ard al-Hamra, Masaken Hanano, Bustan Al Qasr, Al Sukari, Al Firdús, Al Mashad, Al Shaar, Al Maadi, Al Misir, Al Harable and Yisr al Hach.

The source noted that regime forces are trying to shut down Al Bayan and Al Hakim hospitals in Al Ansari because they are attacking surrounding areas.

On the other hand, at least 2 minor siblings died and 10 others were injured by the impact of rockets thrown by rebel and Islamic factions against a market in the Al Ismailiya neighborhood, under government rule, the NGO said. There were similar attacks in the area of Bustán al Zahra.

Meanwhile, fighting has erupted in the northern part of the eastern half of Aleppo between troops loyal to the government of Damascus and rebels, in which the regime has made progress thanks to heavy bombing.

The Observatory underlined that there were also air strikes in villages north and west of Aleppo, such as Al Salum, Marat al Artiq, Andan, Hian, Jan al Asal, Kafr Dael, Al Mansura, Ibin and Dara Aza.

The source said there was one dead and several injured by air strikes in Hian.

The attacks resumed on Tuesday in eastern Aleppo, after three weeks of disruption, although Russia has denied the involvement of its aviation and the Syrian army.
