G.O.G Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 The Linx is the first Bultaco car. It is a prototype of two-seater sports car that has certain similarities with a competition vehicle because it is designed to be very efficient in curves. It has the appearance of a barqueta: it has no roof or windscreen, it is made of light materials and its engine, placed in central position, is very powerful, reason why the relation between weight and power is very low. Its characteristics are very close to those of a future production model, which will be released between the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018. It is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged turbocharger engine and "between 300 and 400 horses" (Bultaco will give the customer the option to choose the power level of his car in that approximate range). The transmission is automatic double-clutch sequential, has six gears and a self-locking differential. Both components are of Volkswagen origin (the engine is the one that SEAT installs in the Lion Cupra; image). The Linx chassis is made of aluminum and weighs 67 kg. The body is made of composite resin (Ie, with all the fluids necessary to travel, a 68 kg driver and 7 kg of luggage). According to Bultaco, this data is not definitive but it is the weight that they want to approach when the definitive version comes to market. If so, the Linx will have a very low power-to-weight ratio of up to 2.1 kg per horse, better than that of a KTM X-BOW R (2.9 kg / hp). Another sport of similar characteristics the Lotus 3-Eleven Road, of which we do not have official data of weight. At the moment we do not know the dimensions of Linx. Other elements that resemble it to the cars of competition are the suspension, of superimposed double trapezes and adjustable horizontal shocks of three channels (type "push-rod"), with independent subsections; The Alcon-Galfer six-piston fixed caliper calipers with 326 mm diameter front discs; Or the exhaust system with silencers of the specialist Akrapovič. As a standard «the driver can adjust the brake distribution power between the front and rear axle». The tires are manufactured by Dunlop, model SportMaxx RT2, in measures 205/40 R17 in the front axle and 265/35 R18 in the rear. Official performance is good for its power: it can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.8 seconds and maximum speed is limited to 280 km / h. The acceleration is better than that of the KTM X-BOW R (3.9 s) but not that of the Lotus 3-Eleven Road (3.4 s), and the speed is identical to that of the Lotus and much higher than that of the KTM (231 km / h). The average approved consumption is 6.2 l / 100 km. According to the forecast of Bultaco, the homologation process will begin imminently and want to start the commercialization between the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, with a price "something above 100,000 euros". Production will be limited annually between 25 and 50 units. The name of Linx (from Latin 'lynx', línce) is in homage to the Iberian lynx. Quote
