Thousands of teachers, nurses, firefighters, police officers and other categories of Brazilian officials participated in a protest marred by violent clashes against Rio de Janeiro state adjustment plans led by governor Luiz Fernando Pezao of the party of Brazilian Democratic Movement (Pmdm)

The public officials, accompanied by the people, entered abruptly in the session of the House this Wednesday to say no to the packet of Michel Temer.

Some of the adjustments that are raised are: Increase from 11% to 30% the discount applied to the pensions of public officials, which would now be limited to 14%.

Increased rates for public transportation, electricity, gas, telecommunications, as well as cuts in welfare programs.

"We are united against this package of evils. We will not pay for the bad administration of the government, "Zulema Quintanilha, a regional judicial official, told AFP.

The cuts "withdraw rights" and in many cases are "unconstitutional", as in the case of double taxation on wages, for its part, the commissioner Jose Oliver of the Civil Police, a body in charge of the investigation of crimes.

"With the Olympic Games, they evicted needy communities with the promise of helping them with social housing or encouraging them in housing developments. But they were tricked, "added Oliver, 56, accompanied by dozens of colleagues with t-shirts identifying them as members of that security body.
