After hitting the first Steven Gerrard which began mourning as suplente-, Giovanni dos Santos sent out its launch and Colorado Rapids goalkeeper Tim Howard then interrupted the shooting of Ashley Cole and Jeff Larentowicz. Howard became a hero of the night unfortunately for Angelenos, who also could not beat Colorado goalkeeper in 90 minutes or in overtime. Shkelzen Gashi, a right-footer from more than 37 yards, tied (min 36) the tie in the first half. In the East, Montreal signed the second surprise of the day by eliminating one of the favorites for the title, New York Red Bulls. Ignacio Piatti with two goals (51 and 87 min) canceled out Bradley Wright-Phillips (77 min) and signed the cross from the Canadians, who had already won 1-0 in the first leg to the conference finals.
