FearLess Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Looking for a six-wheel, 600 horsepower pickup truck? Then the Hennessey-tuned VelociRaptor 6×6 is in a class of its own – assuming you’ve got $295 000… the price of your average supercar. We all know Mercedes-AMG had the six-wheel market covered with the G63 6×6, but now that it’s gone out of production, Texan-based tuner Hennessey – themselves not averse to tinkering with Fords – has created the world’s first serious replacement: a Ford F-150 Raptor that’s been upgraded with a longer load bay, 6×6 rear-locking axles, adjustable Baja-spec ‘Fox’ suspension, 20-inch wheels shod with off-road tyres and custom LED lights. The second rear axle is just like the standard rear unit merely reapplied so both feature locking differentials. Stylistically it looks almost military grade too, receiving a redesigned front bumper with an integrated bull bar, with four look-at-me fog lights right above the windshield. The car is offered as a total package for a $295k asking price (or a snip over R4million in a direct currency conversion, that’s nearly as much as a Lamborghini Huracan). It’s not just toughened up for off-roading and to look mean, mind you, Hennessey Performance can also throw in its VelociRaptor HPE600 twin-turbo upgrade for the small price of adds $22 500; bumping the standard 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6’s power from 305kW to 447kW. This upgrade also includes a stainless steel exhaust, upgraded intercooler and re-tuned factory ECU. All six wheels are driven via the Raptor’s ten-speed automatic gearbox. 1 Quote
