The former Bayern Munich manager, who guided the Bundesliga giants to a historic quadruple, has advised Reus against joining his former team.

According to former Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes, who guided the club to a historic quadruple during his last season in charge at the Allianz Arena, a move to join La Liga giants Real Madrid over the Bavarians would better suit German attacker Marco Reus.

The Borussia Dortmund star, who has garnered a huge fan base due to his impressive displays at the Signal Iduna Park over the last two seasons, looks to be departing Jurgen Klopp’s crew, with the club sitting in the danger zone in 17th spot, and with his reported €25m release clause set to kick in next year.

In a transfer similar to that of former team-mate and good friend Mario Gotze, reports claim Reus is most likely to leave to join Pep Guardiola’s side, but Heynckes believes with the number of world-class players already at Bayern Munich’s disposal, there will be no room for the 25-year-old die Mannschaft attacker.

"I would recommend going to Madrid," Heynckes stated. "Bayern have four or five world class players up front.

"Where would Reus play? If he really has that [release] clause of €25m, all the big European teams should go for him."

The Borussia Dortmund superstar was recently slapped with a record-breaking £427,000 fine for a list of driving offences, including numerous amounts of speeding tickets and driving without a license for three years, an action Heynckes described as inexcusable.

"It's incomprehensible. There is no excuse. He should be better advised," the former die Roten boss continued to say.The former Bayern Munich manager, who guided the Bundesliga giants to a historic quadruple, has advised Reus against joining his former team.
