MSI’S GAMING ARSENAL IN FULL FORCE AT COMPUTEX 2015

Not one to shy away from flaunting their latest and greatest products, MSI unveiled a bevy of new devices at Computex 2015, which included high-end laptops, all-in-one PCs, top-tier desktop GPUs and motherboards. In addition to bringing new products to the show floor, MSI has also refreshed some of their existing products, including the laptops they first unveiled at CES earlier this year.  If there was one word to describe all of their offerings it would be ‘gaming,’ and that much is evident from the Gaming G Series dragon logo adorning all of their hardware.

 

 

As one of the mainstays of MSI’s core offerings, it’s no surprise that its high-end gaming laptops were prominently featured at Computex 2015. Of particular note were refreshes to the already-extreme GT72 Dominator Pro laptop, which won our best gaming laptop of 2015 award last year. The new features include the addition of Nvidia G-Sync technology that complements its powerful GeForce 980M graphics card that has 8GB of GDDR5 memory. For the more cost-conscious among us, MSI also refreshed their GS60/70 and GE72 laptops with upgraded speakers and sound technology to create what MSI calls an “immersive” virtualized 7.1 sound environment. All in all, their refreshed update brings interesting additions to the devices we originally saw at CES earlier this year.

 

NIGHTBLADE GETS UPDATE:

 

The Nightblade series, MSI’s take on a barebones gaming computer case, got an upgrade in the form of the Nightblade MI, which in addition to featuring an on-board Z97 motherboard also comes preloaded with an Intel Core i7 processor and (presumably) the customer’s choice of an Nvidia GeForce 900 series card. Other upgrades to the original include the onboard Nahimic Sound Technology, which promises to deliver a better sound environment through either a gaming headset or regular speakers. Should the Nightblade MI follow in the footsteps of its predecessor (which is likely), it’ll also include a Wi-Fi module, a DVD drive, and proprietary OC overclocking technology.

 

 

While several hardware manufacturers were eager to show off their all-in-one desktops, few could boast that their models would also allow users to mix some serious gaming with their work. Ditching integrated graphics in favor of a dedicated graphics card, MSI unveiled two models of the 24-inch and 27-inch variety that come with the GeForce GTX960M and GTX970M respectively. The 24-inch model comes with either a Full HD or a 4K panel, while the 27-inch monitor features a WQHD display. Both models ship with the user’s choice of an Intel Core i7 processor.
