Jarvis. ™ Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 A few days ago Intel has made available to users a new graphics driver, event more rare as nVidia or AMD. It addresses the PGI and Broadwell Haswell processors, either from desktop or notebook segment. But, unfortunately, BayTrail Atom platforms, both present in low end systems have been neglected by this update. The new driver solves a number of problems encountered in Windows 8 and Windows 7 improves graphics performance and video, and increase autonomy. Specifically, PGI partially decodes the hardware codec VP9, but only in Google Chrome and Hangouts, and receives H.265 support for 8 to 10 bits. What would translate into increased autonomy 1.5 hours. Compared to that, we can not really say for sure. Also, OpenGL and OpenCL are better integrated. Overall graphics performance with Intel promises 34% better video conversion 50% faster and freeing additional CPU, you can use their resources for other tasks.
