A much more attractive design is on the cards, revealed in our exclusive image (above), with the new saloon also set to use the VW Group’s lightweight MQB architecture. That also means it could be available with the plug-in hybrid tech VW will soon offer on its all-new Passat. The current 3.6-litre V6 faces the axe, but all-wheel drive will still be an option.
