Resident Evil 4’s Merchant is a character you want to acquaint yourself with. Look, Leon has already dealt with enough rubbish thanks to unspeakable viruses, so give the lad a break and kit him out properly in RE4. The Merchant is a mysterious figure who happens to have guns, ammo, upgrades, and healing items – we don’t care where he gets his supplies from. We just care about buying them. Saving Ashley is a real pain, you need all the help you can get. Before you acquaint yourself with The Merchant, you might want to meet other Resident Evil characters, such as Resident Evil’s Leon, Resident Evil’s Ada Wong, Resident Evil’s Claire, Resident Evil’s Nemesis, Resident Evil’s Tyrant, and Resident Evil’s Jill. Yes, all of them kick some serious butt.As the name indicates, the Merchant is a swell guy who’s ready to give you whatever items and weapons you need. You know, in exchange for money. Honestly, not much is known about this mysterious figure beyond his love of cash and the phrase ‘what are ya buying?’
You first meet Resident Evil 4’s Merchant in chapter two after Leon wakes up in a house by the valley. The mysterious man in a fashionable cloak beckons the Raccoon City survivor to come outside, where he proceeds to act as a shopkeeper. Not only can you buy useful items and gear from him, but you can also upgrade your weapons.
It’s worth checking in with him frequently, as he often has exclusive offers on his various firearms, all of which only appear in specific chapters so if you don’t take advantage of the deal, it’s likely off the table the next time you see him.
Resident Evil 4 Merchant’s personality
Besides his fondness for firearms and watching the carnage unfold on the island and in the village, we can’t tell you much about The Merchant’s personality. Perhaps we can meet him for a beer sometime – what are ya having?

Former President Donald Trump made a series of false claims on Tuesday while railing against the judge who issued the $454 million civil fraud judgment against him.
Trump posted the claims on social media the day after his lawyers said in a court filing that he had been unable to persuade any company to provide the appeal bond he needs in order to stop New York Attorney General Letitia James, who filed the successful lawsuit against him, from beginning to collect on Judge Arthur Engoron’s judgment.
Trump baselessly accused Engoron and James of corruption and wrote that they are “asking me to put up massive amounts of money before I am allowed to appeal the ridiculous decision. Never done before.” He also claimed that Engoron “wants me to put up Hundreds of Millions of Dollars for the Right to Appeal his ridiculous decision” and that “Engoron wants me to put up the ridiculous fine (I DID NOTHING WRONG!) before I get a chance to Appeal his crazed ruling - A first!”
Trump claimed in another post: “I shouldn’t have to put up any money, being forced by the Corrupt Judge and AG, until the end of the appeal. That’s the way system works!”
Facts First: Trump’s claims are comprehensively untrue. He is allowed to appeal Engoron’s decision without putting up any money. In fact, he is already appealing; he filed his notice of appeal in February, the first business day after Engoron made the ruling official. And what Trump is actually being required to do – put up cash or a bond for the full amount of the judgment to secure a stay that would prevent James from collecting during the appeals process – is not “a first” or something “never done before.” The requirement is set out by New York law, and it is regularly applied in civil cases in the state.
“This is literally the way that the NY rules of court are designed to work, and actually work every day,” said Mitchell Epner, a former federal prosecutor who is now a litigator in private practice in New York. He said the rules being applied to Trump “are applied every day in New York courts, on verdicts of all sizes,” though the size of the judgment against Trump is notably large.
Epner added: “Donald Trump is either horribly misinformed or lying.”
Given that Trump appealed Engoron’s ruling before putting up any money, it is obvious that Engoron hasn’t made the right to appeal dependent on putting up a large amount of money. “He’s allowed to appeal regardless… he’s already appealing,” said Neil Pedersen, president of a surety bond agency in New York.
James gave Trump a 30-day grace period before she starts to collect on the judgment. It ends on Monday, March 25, meaning that this date is a de facto deadline for Trump to find the cash or a bond unless a New York appeals court panel agrees to his request to allow him to avoid putting up the money until the end of the appeals process – which could be years from now. (The appeals court could alternately allow Trump to put up a smaller amount of money.)
If Trump did not secure a stay, James collected on the judgment, and then Trump eventually won the case on appeal, James would be required to return any collected money to Trump along with interest, Epner said.

The tauros, a specially bred version of the long-extinct auroch cattle, is being introduced to Portugal's Côa Valley.
On a cold, misty morning, a herd of dun-coloured Sorraia horses, an endangered local breed, graze on grass and small shrubs, their short and stocky bodies enveloped in the mist by the Côa river in the mountains of northeastern Portugal. As the sun rises and the mist starts to dissipate, it unveils the deep gorges of the Côa Valley, where vultures and eagles nest on the cliffs.
Further south, a herd of large black and chestnut cattle with long horns run with agility. Known as tauros, these bovines are a specially bred version of the long-extinct auroch, the wild ancestor of the modern cow.
The horses and tauros were released by Rewilding Portugal, a non-profit organisation whose mission is to create a 1,200 sq km (463 sq miles) wildlife corridor along the Côa River, improving habitat connectivity between the Douro River in the north and the Malcata mountains in the south.
"We promote the coming back of wild species and replace the extinct ones, such as the auroch and the wild horse," says Pedro Prata, the head of Rewilding Portugal. Since it was established in 2019, the organisation has released two herds of 20 Sorraia horses and 15 tauros in an area spanning about 20 sq km (7.7 sq miles) to restore natural processes with natural grazing.
Thousands of years ago, the wild ancestors of cattle and horses roamed freely across the Côa region, migrating in large herds and playing a key role in maintaining grassland ecosystems. The animals were so important that our ancestors decided to paint and engrave their images in caves and stones.
Along the Côa Valley, representations of aurochs, wild horses and other creatures dating back 24,000 years have been carved on the schist outcrops. The area boats one of the largest concentrations of Paleolithic open-air rock art, and is recognised as a Unesco World Heritage site.
With its long horns and massive body, the auroch features prominently in the engravings. Once the largest land mammals in Europe, aurochs went extinct in the 17th Century due to overhunting and habitat loss. The last of the species died in Poland in 1627; one of the first recorded cases of extinction.
But recent efforts are trying to bring back these mighty herbivores. Rewilding Portugal partnered with the Taurus Foundation, a Dutch organisation dedicated to breeding bovines that could thrive in Europe's wild landscapes.

Manchester City host Arsenal in a Premier League title-race defining match at the Etihad on Sunday, live on Sky Sports - but key players are facing a race to be fit in time for the contest.
With Arsenal leading Liverpool at the top of the standings on goal difference and City just a point further back, the game between City and Arsenal is a hotly-anticipated and crucial contest.
There was a double blow for City's England defenders, with Kyle Walker and John Stones both forced off with injury while away with the Three Lions.
Walker limped off during the first half of Saturday's defeat to Brazil with what was later described as a tight hamstring. The issue was initially not thought to be too serious, however on Wednesday it was announced he would be having a scan and is rated 50-50 to face Arsenal. However, Stones' situation is less clear. After Tuesday's draw against Belgium, England boss Southgate suggested it was an adductor issue in his groin but the City defender didn't look comfortable when he had to make way just nine minutes into the game. He later told Sky Sports News' Rob Dorsett he was not sure if he would be fit to face Arsenal.

Former President Trump arrives for a press conference at 40 Wall Street after a pretrial hearing at Manhattan criminal court March 25, 2024, in New York. A New York judge has scheduled an April 15 trial date in Trump’s hush money case. Judge Juan M. Merchan made the ruling Monday.
Former Watergate prosecutor Nick Akerman said Wednesday that the gag order recently imposed on former President Trump in his New York hush money trial is “so unusual.”
“I think what the viewers have to understand is, this is so unusual,” Akerman told CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield in an interview. “This never happens, in over 50 years of law practice, both as a prosecutor, a defense lawyer.”
Akerman emphasized the unprecedented nature of how Trump’s case has unfolded, and that his attacks on Judge Juan Merchan could get the former president in “harm’s way.”
Not only is the gag order itself unusual, Akerman noted, but Trump’s conduct in the courtroom that warranted the action from Merchan stood out to the attorney.
“The reason it’s not done is because once you start disparaging the judge, disparaging people in the courtroom, you’re putting yourself in harm’s way. Because that’s the judge who’s going to sentence you. It’s the judge who could send you to jail or give you probation,” Akerman said.
Merchan imposed a gag order on Trump on Tuesday, preventing the former president from making public statements about the court staff, witnesses and other figures in the case. Trump can still publicly deride Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) and Merchan. It was the former president’s third gag order in less than six months, and came just weeks before his trial kicks off on April 15.
Akerman said Trump is a unique example of somebody who is testing the boundaries between protecting the defense’s First Amendment rights and ensuring the safety of the judicial system.
“So you don’t do those sorts of things,” Akerman said. “Donald Trump is the only one I have ever seen do this and do it in such an outrageous way that has really forced the courts to deal with, ‘Where does the First Amendment stop, and where do we need a gag order in order to protect the judicial system?’”
Trump slammed Merchan on Wednesday for imposing the gag order, calling it “illegal, un-American, unConstitutional.”
“This Judge, by issuing a vicious ‘Gag Order,’ is wrongfully attempting to deprive me of my First Amendment Right to speak out against the Weaponization of Law Enforcement,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post, “including the fact that Crooked Joe Biden, Merrick Garland, and their Hacks and Thugs are tracking and following me all across the Country, obsessively trying to persecute me, while everyone knows I have done nothing wrong!”

[PC Games] Rise of the Ronin
in PC Games
Posted
