"The Islamic Republic of Iran is fully prepared to expand and deepen cooperation in military matters"
The Iranian General Staff of the Armed Forces does not rule out maneuvering with China as part of efforts to strengthen military cooperation.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is fully prepared to expand and deepen military and defense cooperation between two countries, including joint military maneuvers," said the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Of division Mohamad Husein Baqeri.
In a meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan in Tehran, Tehran, Baqeri added that future military cooperation between Tehran and Beijing will be based on an agreement signed between the Defense Ministries of both countries.
Hours earlier on the same day, Chang met with his Iranian counterpart, Brig. Gen. Husein Dehqan. Following the meeting, a Defense Matters agreement was signed.
The Iranian military high command, emphasizing the fraternal relationship between Tehran and Beijing, has underlined the importance of improving "strategic cooperation" in the face of regional and international avatars.
Baqeri has also praised China's "constructive" role in international equations and urged the Asian country to continue to play that role in dealing with the hegemony and aggression exerted by the arrogant world powers.
Chang, for his part, has emphasized the "promising" character of bilateral ties and added that the Chinese Armed Forces will implement in detail the sti[CENSORED]ted in the military agreement signed with Dehqan.
During the meeting, both sides agreed on the importance of making a collective effort to strengthen peace and stability, as well as respect for legitimate governments in the region
Likewise, the military owners have stressed the need to face terrorism as the greatest threat to all countries in the world.
