[Hardware] Corsair expands its range of external SSDs for content creators and iPhone users

As the USB-C connector has become a standard, not only for mobile phones but also for all types of devices, the number of external SSD storage drives available on the market has expanded considerably, making it increasingly difficult to choose which is the best option.

To the already large number of products within this segment, we must add Corsair's new offering with the EX400U and EX300U, two external SSDs designed to offer maximum durability, portability, and speed without compromising anything.

 

Corsair EX400U Survivor USB4 External SSD
When we talk about the Corsair EX400U Survivor external SSD, we are talking about an SSD that offers read speeds of up to 4,000 MB/s and write speeds of 3,600 MB/s, far exceeding the speeds offered by this type of storage drive, which barely exceeds 1,000 MB/s for reading and writing.

This external SSD storage drive is not only compatible with laptops and desktop PCs with Thunderbolt 4 support, but is also compatible with USB 3.2 Type-C devices and iOS devices that have a USB-C port and has a total weight of 149 grams.

Like any external storage drive, the EX400U Survivor features an IP55-certified casing that protects the drive from everyday impacts and dust. It's available in 1, 2, and 4TB storage capacities and is designed for content creators on the go.

 

Price and Availability
These new Corsair storage drives are now available through their website. The Corsair EX400U SSD with 1TB of storage is priced at €159.99. The 2TB model is priced at €279.99, while the 4TB model is priced at €464.99. Along with the SSD, a 30cm USB-C to USB-C cable with support for charging up to 60W and a 7cm cable with a USB-C connector are included.

 

Corsair EX300U USB External SSD with MagSafe
The Corsair EX300U SSD features built-in MagSafe support, allowing it to be attached to the back of your iPhone and used as a backup drive, especially when using the iPhone's ProRes recording mode. It features a USB 3.2 Type-C port that offers read and write speeds of up to 1,100 MB/s.

Despite having a MagSafe connector, thanks to its built-in USB-C port, we can also use it with any other Android mobile device, an iPad, a Windows PC, or a MacBook, and it weighs 98 grams.

The Corsair EX300U MagSafe SSD is available in 1, 2, and 4 TB capacities in a light gray color, very similar to the one Apple previously used in the iPhone range.

Like the EX400U model, the new Corsair EX300U SSD is also available through its website. The 1 TB model is priced at €109.99, the 2 TB model is €184.99, and the 4 TB model is priced at €369.99. Along with the SSD, a 30 cm USB-C to USB-C cable and a 7 cm USB-C to USB-C cable with a 90-degree angle are included.
