The operation of the character recognition (OCR) function in the Mobile Link application, formerly known as Your Phone, is very simple. The first thing we must do is open the application and access the icon that allows us to access the images that we have stored on the device.

Next, we select the photo from which we are interested in recognizing the text so that it opens large. At that time, on the back, different options will be shown to save the image on the PC, share it, delete it and, in addition, we will also find a new function that responds to the name Text.

By clicking on this function, Windows will show the same interface that is also shown in the Paint application to recognize the text of an image and where we can select all the text, or drag the mouse to select only the part that interests us. With the text already selected, the last thing we need to do is press the Copy Text button.

This last function is responsible for copying the text to the clipboard so that it is available for any application installed on the computer, so the last thing we must do is open the application where we want to use it and click on the Paste button.

As we can see, the operation of this new image text recognition function with the Mobile Link application is exactly the same as what we can find in the Windows Paint application for more than a year. Regarding when it will be available, it depends on how the development of the feature evolves and whether Microsoft plans to release it along with other system updates or if it will work independently.
