Angel of Death
Egypt's interior ministry said that security forces have located a private vehicle carrying weapons and explosives in Giza's Faisal district which initial investigations show was used to transfer the explosive device used in Friday's attack on a security checkpoint in Giza that killed six policemen, Al-Ahram Arabic website reported on Tuesday. Security forces defused an explosive device found in the car, which turned out to be stolen. The ministry said that two suitcases were found in the vehicle. In the first, security forces found a pistol, automatic rifle and ammunition, while in the second they found material used to manufacture explosives as well as a container for transporting explosive devices. Security forces are intensifying their search to arrest the militants responsible for Friday's attack. Six policemen were killed and three others were injured early Friday morning in a bomb blast in Giza governorate's Haram district. Attacks against security forces have become common in recent years but are largely concentrated in North Sinai, where Egypt's army and police are battling an entrenched Islamist insurgency. A little-known Egyptian militant group which calls itself "Hasm" claimed responsibility for Friday's bomb attack. The group has claimed a number of other attacks on police checkpoints in recent months. This explosion was the first of three attacks inside a week. On Friday, another bomb exploded on Kafr El-Sheikh international road, killing one civilian and injuring three policemen. On Sunday, twenty-four people were killed and 49 injured when a bomb exploded inside the prayer hall of a church attached to St. Mark's Coptic Cathedral in Cairo, in one of the deadliest attacks on Egyptian Christians in recent years. https://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/1/64/252002/Egypt/Politics-/Egyptian-police-locate-vehicle-used-to-transport-e.aspx
