Some people or companies may have access to the location of your smartphone, but you can tell if they are really watching you.

The mobile phone has become an essential device for most people, but it has the drawback that it is currently easy to hack it, something that in Spain is done through applications and 'spyware' such as Pegasus; and even track it, since only one device is enough for this. Even so, there are a number of tricks to find out if someone is gossiping about the location of your mobile.

Spying on a person's location using a mobile phone is an easy way to locate someone, but if you do not have their consent, it is a serious attack on their privacy. Today, without you realizing it, someone else may have access to that information, and it can be both a person and a company.

And it is that the location is one of the information that users must take care of, for this reason it is really important to know if someone is spying on you by having access to it. To do this, in the case of smartphones with the Android operating system, there are several ways to find out if someone is watching where you are.

Review permissions
Sometimes you have chosen to share your location with a person and that access has never been cut off. One way to know if someone is spying on you is to check the permissions, that is, when downloading an application, it sometimes asks for a series of permissions, such as access to the location.

It is important to know to whom this permission is being given and in what way, since the ideal is to bet by only giving access every time the app is opened and not every time. This is because sometimes some applications run in the background and even though they are not being used, they still have access to this information.

To know the permissions that are given to the applications, you have to enter 'Settings' and access the 'Security and privacy' section. At that moment, it only remains to enter 'Privacy' and, later, in 'Permissions manager'. By going to the 'Location' section, at that moment you can check which applications can see the location and even remove access to them.

Connected devices
Another way to find out if a person or company has access to your mobile location is to check the devices connected to the Google account. When you change your Android mobile, sometimes you may forget to delete your big 'G' account from your phone, leaving it open and giving the possibility of being spied on and controlled.

Even this also happens on devices such as computers, tablets or smart watches. To check which devices your Google account is open on and delete them, you have to go to 'Settings' of the mobile and slide to the bottom to go to 'Google'.

At that time, a new window will open and you must click on 'Manage account' and look for the 'Security' tab and then 'Manage all devices'. In this section, a panel will open with all the devices in which your Google account is open and it will only be necessary to eliminate those that are not being used so that they do not see your location.

On google maps
Google Maps, the well-known map application of the big 'G', has a function that allows you to send a third party the location in real time, which is really useful in those cases when you are traveling to an unsafe place or for guide you if you are lost.

However, the process to deactivate this option is manual and you may have missed doing it on occasion, so that third party can continue to see where you are at all times without you noticing.

To check if the location continues to be shared, open the Google Maps application on your mobile, go to the profile photo located in the upper right corner and select 'Share Location'. There, at the bottom, the 'Stop' option will appear and clicking on it will remove access to your location from the person with whom it has been previously shared. In case nothing appears, it means that you are not being watched.
